In my stay in the Senior High School Department of Sipocot National High School, I was exposed to many opportunities that helped me improve my skills and competencies as a student-teacher.

Unlocked skills through LAC

With the vision to enhance the teaching-learning process and improve the skills of teachers in particular aspects of the curriculum, the Sipocot National High School allowed us, student-teachers to attend to their Learning Action Cell.

I attended two LAC sessions that assisted me in mentally preparing to become a teacher. My first Science Learning Action Cell took place on March 3, 2023. In this LAC session, I learned how to create test questions and a table of specifications using Bloom's taxonomy. During the SHS LAC Session, I learned about Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in education, as well as the power of ICT in education, inclusive education, and how to fill out various DepEd school forms.

Attending these types of sessions is extremely beneficial to me as a student teacher.

Go, Siyentista!

I also facilitated the School-Based Science Olympics last March 26-27, 2023. The activity was through the effort of the science department to engage students in fun and enlightening scientific activities. I facilitated the Science Quiz bee for senior high school. This activity helped me become more responsible in expediating the nature and purpose of teaching.

One of the memorable and heart-fluttering comments I got during the post-conference of my final demonstration.

Teaching is a profession of love, care, and respect. The learnings I got throughout my stay as a student teacher have helped me embrace the teaching profession even more.

It feels great to wake up knowing that you can make a difference in someone's life. Teachers are heroes, and I am a teacher.
