Introduction

Teaching is not for me.
These are the five tactless words I utter after the first two weeks of my internship deployment. I was exhausted, drained, and shocked by the things a teacher does in a day. I felt like I wasn't cut out to be one– gratefully, it’s just a phase.

Since I was an elementary student, I already have a huge respect for all of my teachers. I always appreciate them and admire their efforts that’s why even at a young age, they inspired me to become a teacher. The idea of having someone that listens and learn from the thing you say and do certainly tickle the neurons in my brain. Until graduating high school, my aspiration to become an inspiration to children remained unmoved.

In college, different unfortunate circumstances arose, and the global pandemic has completely changed the way we view and practice education. But my love for teaching intensifies because I saw how strong and persevering teachers are. Up until deployment, I am very enthusiastic and passionate about teaching but after two weeks, I was hit by the reality that teaching is HARD. Yes, even myself is shaken by this realization because where did my passion go? Am I, not the kind of teacher I think I am?

The answer is NO. After that pit of wretched emotions, I realized that it is normal to question yourself because that is how you evaluate yourself if you’re really on the right track. Now, that I am one inch closer to reaching my childhood dream, I am grateful more than ever to the teachers that inspired me to become strong and helped mold me into who I am today.

This e-portfolio is a reflection of how strong a teacher can be. This is my living testament that I am meant to become a teacher. I am meant to inspire others, provide knowledge, and hone individuals to be the best that they can be. Soon, I will also become a teacher that will inspire them to go on life. The teaching profession is transformational, teaching profession is a lifesaver.
